Project 1:
Due 10/19 Projects should reflect something you learned about Ancient China or Ancient Egypt. Some suggestions are: *Ancient China: -Make a model of the Great Wall of China. Be prepared to explain it's purpose with 8 to 10 facts. -Make a scroll depicting Chinese characters. Be prepared to explain the difference between our system of writing and theirs with 8 to 10 facts. *Ancient Egypt: -Make a box containing 8 to 10 items that you would take with you to the afterlife. Be prepared to explain why you chose these objects. -Make a model of a sarcophagus. Decorate it with 8 to 10 pictures that represent who you are. |
Project 2:
Due 1/12 Projects should reflect something you learned about Ancient Greece or Ancient Rome. Some suggestions are: *Ancient Greece: -Make a book of Greek Gods. Include name, symbols, what they are the God of (i.e. Poseiden is the God of Water), etc. -Make a replica of the Trojan Horse. Be ready to explain it's purpose with 8 to 10 facts. *Ancient Rome: -Make a model of a Roman aqueduct. Be prepared to explain it's purpose with 8 to 10 facts. -Make a mosaic. Be prepared to explain the method used in creating this type of art with 8 to 10 facts. |
Project 3:
Due 3/23 Projects should reflect something you learned about Medieval Times or the Renaissance. Some suggestions are: *Medieval Times: -Make a model of a castle. Label all of 8 to 10 different parts and be prepared to explain the purpose of each. -Write your own fairy tale! It needs to be 8 to 10 pages or 5 pages with illustrations. *The Renaissance: -Do a bit of research on how Michelangelo painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and be prepared to share 8 to 10 things you have learned. Then tape paper to your ceiling, under your table, or anywhere else you can think and do your best doodle! -Shakespeare...who was he and why is such a big deal? Find 8 to 10 facts about him and/or his life's work, and be prepared to share those facts. Then write a short play of your own. We'll even perform it if you want! |
Project 4: Due 4/23
Projects should reflect something you learned about the Industrial Revolutin or either of the World Wars. Some suggestions are: *The Industrial Revolution: -Learn as much as you can about Morse Code (8 to 10 facts). Present your findings in a poster or "speak" to us in Morse Code. -Make a model or diagram of an invention from the Industrial Revolution. Label 8 to 10 parts of the model or tell us 8 to 10 things you learned about this invention. *World War I or II: -Research a famous battle. Share with us 8 to 10 facts about that battle keeping it as school appropriate as possible. -Make a model or diagram of a vehicle from either World War I or II (i.e. tank, submarine, fighter plane, etc.). Share with us 8 to 10 facts about the vehicle and/or label 8 to 10 parts of the vehicle. |
